WILL YOU STILL BE READY TO FOLLOW JESUS?

THE COST OF DISCIPLESHIP  (Luke 9 :57 - 58)
Now it happened as they journeyed on the road, that someone said to Him, “Lord, I will follow You wherever You go.” And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.”

If this person were you and Jesus said this to you in response to your statement to follow him, WILL YOU STILL BE READY TO FOLLOW JESUS ? Will you be ready to abandon all confidence in yourselves, and completely trust God; would you give up your honor and accept to be nothing; can you renounce your will and submit to the Plans of God?

JESUS - THE ROLE MODEL (Philippians 2:5-11)
Jesus didn’t shout out “how – to instructions” to be restored with God from the heavens; rather He choose to humble himself, came down from heaven to earth taking a human form and gave his life as a ransom for us to be reconciled with God.

Paul writes "Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God,  but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bond servant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.

Many fail to see beyond the here and now. We often reason that being humble is an act of foolishness in a corrupt value system. But it doesn't end that way. The Bible says in Proverbs 22:4  " Humility and the fear of the LORD bring wealth and honor and life."

THE REWARDS OF HUMILITY
Paul concludes, "Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

He loves you and you can trust him for His love towards you has not changed a bit, no matter how distant you think you are away from Him. Ask him to come into your life and to abide with you from today!!! O THOU WHO CHANGEST NOT, ABIDE WITH ME
